Richard Franklin Lennox Thomas Pryor III (December 1, 1940 – December 10, 2005)

For most people, Richard Pryor will be remembered as a comedy film actor from the 70s and 80s. For the comedy community however, he was nothing short of a legend. Pryor kicked stand up comedy into a whole new dimension. The comedian's vital work was crammed with race, class and social commentary, and at one point turned him into the highest-paid black performer in the entertainment industry.
